Australian-based Doftek, developer of the market leading active wheel alignment system, is expanding its global operations to the United Kingdom (UK) – joining a growing community of world-changing automotive technology companies choosing to establish at MIRA Tech Park. The move positions Doftek at the heart of theEuropean automotive ecosystem and accelerates its mission to deliver next generation steering and wheel alignment solutions to global automotive manufacturers.
Doftek’s Active Wheel Alignment (AWATM) innovation automatically controls the geometry of all four wheels of a vehicle in real-time while driving, to provide maximum contact between each tyre and the road surface at all times. It achieves this by managing a vehicle’s camber, caster and toe – the key wheel alignment properties that affect handling, stability, tyre wear and emissions. Allowing these settings to be adjusted on the fly optimises grip, comfort and efficiency in real time, thereby improving a vehicle’s fuel efficiency or battery range, enhancing driving enjoyment, increasing safety and reducing running costs.
The European operation will support the development of Doftek’s flagship AWATM product using MIRA Tech Park’s proving grounds and test labs. MIRA Tech Park is one of the world’s premier automotive research and development (R&D) and testing campuses, offering access to specialist engineering, simulation and physical proving ground facilities. Located in the Midlands, MIRA occupies a central position in the UK’s automotive industry and is widely recognised as a global hub for innovation in vehicle dynamics, electrification, autonomy and mobility systems.
